Our mission is to create a safe, inclusive, and inspiring environment where every dancer can develop their skills, confidence, and love of dance while learning respect, commitment, and teamwork.

At Tara Jayne Dance Academy, we believe every dancer deserves the opportunity to learn, grow and thrive in a supportive and inspiring environment. Our Classes
Toddler Dance
Ages 2-3 years:
A fun and creative introduction to movement for our youngest stars.
Kinder Dance
Ages 3-5 years:
Nurturing young dancers through imaginative play and basic rhythm steps.
Junior Dance
Ages 5-7 years:
Elevating skills dancers with more refined movement patterns, incorporating multiple styles of dance
Hip Hop
Ages 8+:
A stylised and high energy, focusing on rhythm, groove, and individuality.
Ballet
Ages 8+
Graceful foundations focusing on technique, posture, and artistic expression.
Jazz
Ages 8+
Dynamic and energetic routines set to upbeat music, building rhythm and flare.
Contemporary
Ages 8+
Expressive movement that blends ballet, jazz, and modern dance techniques.
Competition Teams

Meet Our Teachers
Miss Tara-Jayne Murray
Studio Principal/Owner

Miss Tara started her dance training in Coffs Harbour, and has trained in ballet, jazz, contemporary, lyrical and hip hop; she has competed successfully at both local and national levels. Miss Tara began teaching at the age of 15 and has since been honoured with numerous Eisteddfod placings and awards, including a choreography award. She is passionate about sharing her knowledge, experience, and love of dance while inspiring the next generation of dancers to reach their full potential.

Miss Tara's goal is to create a positive, supportive environment where every student feels valued, builds confidence, and has the opportunity to reach their full potential. Whether dancing for fun or striving for competitive success, Miss Tara believes every child deserves to feel inspired, challenged, and proud of their achievements.
Miss Kelli Matheson
Teacher

Miss Kelli has been part of the Bairnsdale dance community since the age of five and has been teaching since 2009. With a lifelong passion for dance, she is dedicated to helping young dancers develop strong technique, build confidence, and discover a genuine love of performing in a positive and supportive environment.
​
Since coaching competitive teams in 2012, Miss Kelli's choreography has consistently achieved Top 3 placings at local competitions. Specialising in modern hip hop, she combines current movement styles with strong foundational technique, focusing on musicality, groove, performance quality, timing, and expression. Miss Kelli is passionate about inspiring every dancer to work hard, enjoy the journey, and become confident, versatile performers both on and off the stage.
